RSL Soldiers Memorial Institute Military Museum - Redevelopment

The Soldiers Memorial Institute is a prominent building of considerable architectural, social and historical significance to the Bendigo and District community.

Constructed in 1919 as a permanent memorial to all those from Bendigo who served in WWI, it is now home to the largest regionally based memorial military museum.

To enshrine the ongoing recognition of those who have served this country, the Bendigo District RSL is committed to the redevelopment and extension of the Soldiers Memorial Institute Military Museum.

This will ensure the facility complies with modern building codes and museum standards to provide increased opportunities for a wider range of museum permanent displays, temporary exhibitions and education programs.

To help facilitate the $4.5 million revitalization project, the Bendigo District RSL, in partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo, has secured funding through Federal, State and Local Governments and provided a $250,000 contribution.

We are now seeking support and commitment from organisations, businesses and the general public to raise the outstanding $250,000 required for the project.

Donations can be made via this website or you can visit any branch of the Bendigo Bank throughout Australia to contribute through the Bank’s Community Enterprise Foundation.

Alternatively, donations are being received at the Bendigo District RSL Club, 73-75 Havilah Road, Bendigo, between 9am and 5pm every day of the week.

Donations over $2.00 are tax deductible and receipts will be forwarded to donors.  We are proud to have our project partner, Bendigo Community Health Services auspice the Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status.

We welcome donations by direct transfer over a period of time.  Those who donate over $1000 in total will be invited to be acknowledged on the Museum’s Donors & Sponsors panel.

For further information please email the Museum or phone 03 5442 4513.

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
